Project Overview

This project is located in Shanghai Puxi, China, and was led by Vivian, Design Director of VCD Design. It is a high-end detached villa renovation project integrating architectural appearance and interior design. The residence includes one basement level, three above-ground floors, and one mezzanine, with an interior area of approximately 533.5 m² and balcony and terrace landscape areas of approximately 71.2 m².

This project was not a simple surface-level update. Under the existing primary structural conditions, the design involved a comprehensive reorganization of the spatial layout, architectural appearance, and interior planning. The goal was to create a clearer modern residential expression while improving the relationship between natural light, circulation, family living, and privacy.

The overall direction emphasizes a calm, natural, and contemporary residential atmosphere. The exterior uses fair-faced concrete, wood-effect tiles, and refined exterior tiles to reduce unnecessary decorative elements and bring the residence back to a cleaner, more stable, and sophisticated architectural expression.
